Symphytum grandiflorum ist eine kräftige, schnell wachsende Staude mit großen, rauen grünen Blättern und auffälligen creme- bis hellgelben Blüten, die früh im Frühjahr erscheinen. Diese Pflanze eignet sich hervorragend als Bodendecker für halbschattige bis schattige Beete, unter Sträuchern und in naturnahen Gärten, wo sie rasch dichte Bestände bildet und Unkraut unterdrückt. Symphytum grandiflorum gedeiht am besten in feuchten, humusreichen und gut durchlässigen Böden, ist pflegeleicht, winterhart und besonders wertvoll für früh fliegende Insekten.
